About Calgary Ostomy Society
Serving the Calgary ostomy community since 1968!
The Calgary Ostomy Society is a proud chapter of Ostomy Canada Society, dedicated to supporting individuals living with ileostomies, urostomies, colostomies, and J-Pouches.
As a non-profit, self-governing organization, we provide essential educational and health services backed by medical advisers to empower and assist our community.
What We Do
The Calgary Ostomy Society provides a variety of services and programs to support those living with an ostomy or j-pouch in Calgary and area.

Ostomy Visitor Program
Our trained volunteers—who are also ostomates or J-Pouch users—offer support and guidance to individuals both before and after surgery, sharing their personal experiences and advice.

Ostomy & J-Pouch Virtual Support Group
Join us via Zoom on the last Tuesday of each month. Our meeting offers a supportive space to discuss ostomy and j-pouch surgery and care.

Quarterly Meetings
Join us for quarterly meetings that feature informative speakers, an opportunity to meet with Ostomy Nurses (NSWOC) in an informal setting, and discover new products from manufacturers and vendors.

Osto-Meet Social Lunch
Osto-Meet is a supportive social group for individuals with an ostomy or j-pouch. Through regular meet-ups, we foster connections, shared experiences, and friendships.

Step Up For Ostomy
Every fall, Calgary Ostomy participates in “Step Up For Ostomy” to raise awareness and funds for Ostomy Canada. The event features an awareness walk, Ostomy Expo, and BBQ lunch!

Ostomy Canada Youth Camp
Calgary Ostomy sponsors local children who have undergone ostomy and related surgeries to attend the week-long camp in Bragg Creek every July.
