Join us for a meaningful and family-friendly event featuring a community walk at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.  \n\n\n\n(Note: We will not be hosting an ostomy expo or BBQ this year due to the unavailability of the community hall.) \n\n\n\nThis casual event brings people together to reduce stigma\, share stories\, and raise vital funds for education\, advocacy\, and support. Whether you have an ostomy\, know someone who does\, or simply care about creating a more compassionate and informed community\, your presence makes a difference. \n\n\n\nHighlights include: \n\n\n\n\nAwareness walk suitable for all ages\n\n\n\nFree Step Up For Ostomy 2025 t-shirts (while supplies last)\n\n\n\nBottled water & chips\n\n\n\n50/50 Online Raffle – get your tickets today!\n\n\n\n\nWalk:Arrive anytime between 1:00 and 2:00 pm at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Pick up your t-shirt\, sign a waiver (if you did not register online)\, and take a walk around the park with local ostomates. Whether you are newly diagnosed or a seasoned veteran in managing your condition\, the Calgary Ostomy & J-Pouch Virtual Support Group offers a community filled with understanding\, resources\, and invaluable support. We meet via Zoom on the last Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. \n\n\n\nOur meeting is an opportunity to connect with others who truly understand what you’re going through. Share your experiences\, learn from others\, and find the emotional support to make all the difference in your journey. \n\n\n\nOur discussion will cover critical aspects of ostomy management\, including diet\, hydration\, and how to choose the right appliances for your needs. \n\n\n\nFor those with a J-pouch\, we’re planning a “breakout group” session to focus on your unique challenges and questions\, depending on attendance.
